5-star class of 2016 recruit T.J. Leaf has announced that he’s decommitted from the Arizona Wildcats.
Leaf, a 6-9 / 6-10 power forward from Foothills Christian High School in El Cajon, California, made the announcement yesterday. Â He was widely considered to be a top 10 overall recruit in the class and that was prior to having a very strong summerÂ playing for the Israeli national team during the U18 European Championships. Â He ended the tournament by winning MVP honors after averaging 16.1 points and 8.4 rebounds in nine games.
He projects as a prototype stretch-4 in today’s NBA. Â Leaf possesses great size along with a dangerous shot out to 3-point range and well above average ball handling skills for a player his size.
Prior to announcing his commitment to Arizona in November, his top 5 was Arizona, Duke, Florida, Michigan and UCLA.
