David Lee has had a busy couple of days
On Friday, the Boston Celtics bought out the contract of veteran forward David Lee and placed him on waivers.
On Sunday, once he’s cleared waivers, Lee is expected to sign with the Dallas Mavericks for $2.1 million dollars.
The 2-time All-Star played 30 games with the Celtics this season, averaging 7.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 15.7 minutes per game.
He was acquired from the Golden State Warriors on July 27th, 2015 in exchange for forward Gerald Wallace and guard Chis Babb.
With the Mavericks he’s expected to provide off-the-bench scoring behind forward Dirk Nowitzki.
The 32-year-old Lee played sparingly with the Warriors last year until unexpectedly serving a key role for the team during last year’s NBA Finals.
Lee has career averages of 14.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
