This weekend the Genesis 4 tournament took place in California, giving hundreds of players from all over the world their shot at winning some prize money by playing their favorite fighting games including 3 different versions of Super Smash Bros.

In Smash 4 WiiU Echo Fox’s MKLeo dominated the game, winning both the singles bracket and the doubles bracket. For the singles he defeated his doubles partner, Cloud Nine’s Ally to be crowned champion. Possible favorite Team SoloMid ZeRo placed third in the singles bracket and fourth in the doubles along with partner Nairo. MKLeo took to twitter afterwards to thank everyone for their support and mention how incredibly difficult it was for him to win Genesis 4 over some of the world’s top players.

The world crews tournament for Smash 4 WiiU resulted in a victory for Team USA. Japan placed second and Mexico placed third in this one.

In Super Smash Bros. 64, PG SuPeRbOoMfAn was near the top of each bracket of the tournaments, placing second in the singles and first in the doubles alongside partner JamieHR. The two defeated “tacos” and TR3GTheZ in the grand finals to become the reigning champions and prize money winning Smash 64 team of Genesis 4. SuPeRbOoMfAn lost to Alvin Leon Haro in the grand finals of the singles bracket.

Adam “Armada” Lindgren continued to be a dominant force in the Super Smash Bros. Melee world as he took home the titles for both brackets in this one. Alongside partner Android, who is sponsored by the same “Team Allegiance” as Armada, they made it to the grand finals by way of the losers bracket, then defeating Armada’s fellow Swedish countryman Leffen and ICE of Germany in the end, whose only loss came to Armada and Android in the grand finals.

The singles bracket was rather interesting, as Armada made it to the grand finals through the winners bracket in this one as well, while everyone else fought each other to try and face him. C9 Mang0 was able to defeat and remove Leffen and Liquid HungryBox who came in 4th and 5th place in the tournament, to make it to the finals of the losers bracket facing Mew2King who had only previously lost to Armada. Mang0 defeated Mew2King 3-1 to move on to the grand finals where he would lose to the only person to beat him in the tournament as well, Armada. Armada, of course, would take the grand finals victory against Mang0, securing his third Genesis singles tournament championship, and his second championship of Genesis 4.

In newcomer Rivals of Aether, FS Fullstream took the title without a loss on the weekend defeating 2nd and 3rd place players MrLz and ICE RK987.

Kyle “kpulv” Pulver won the Towerfall tournament, with zero losses through the weekend and defeating starsky and IFD siggyx, who rounded out the top 3 behind kpulv.

Street Fighter V and Catherine tournaments are still taking place. Dacidbro and Pen Ninja are set to compete in the grand finals for Catherine. PG.Fchampryan will face off against pnoy for the grand finals of Street Fighter V.
