Jeff Green moves on to his 5th NBA team.

The Orlando Magic have been busy today.  First, they signed free agent point guard D.J. Augustin as a back-up to Elfrid Payton.  Then they locked up rising star shooting guard Evan Fournier.  Now, the team has added Jeff Green into the mix as well.

The Magic signed Green to a one-year contract worth $15 million.

Green, a 29-year-old forward, started last season with the Memphis Grizzlies but was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.  The Clippers gave up Lance Stephenson and a future first-round pick for Green, only to let him walk a few months later.

He posted a combined average of 11.7 points and 4.2 rebounds while playing about 28 minutes a game. The Magic will be Green’s fifth team in the NBA after playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The small forward has been something of an enigma throughout his professional career.  He’s never quite played up to the expectations that came with being the #5 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft.
