If there was any doubt about it before today, we can safely say this…

Jordan Spieth is really good at golf.

The 21-year-old Dallas native, took down Tom Gillis on the second hole of a playoff today to win the John Deere Classic.  This mark’s Spieth’s fourth tournament win of the season, including a pair of majors (U.S. Open / Masters).

Spieth’s brilliance on the playoff hole dashed any dream Tom Gillis had of becoming the oldest first-time winner on the PGA Tour in over 20 years.

This is Jordan Spieth’s 5th PGA Tour win before his 22nd birthday.  The only person to top that mark is Tiger Woods, who won 6 before turning 22.

Spieth is making a case to be considered the top golfer on the planet.  In 19 events this season, he’s made the cut in 17, finished in the top ten in 11 and won 4.

Next up for Spieth is the Open, where he looks for his third straight Major Championship.

(And he’ll do so without having the face the tour’s #1 ranked golfer Rory McIlroy).
