Last week, news broke that Suns power forward Markieff Morris demanded a trade from the Phoenix Suns.
As of right now, he’s still a Sun.
But has $10,000 less in his back account.
The NBA has fined Morris 10K for these comments, among others…
“One thing for sure, I am not going to be there. Â If you want to put that out there, you can put that out. ” he added. “I don’t give a [freak]. I am not going to be there at all. That’s just what it is.”
Morris is upset with the way the Suns traded twin brother Marcus away to the Detroit Pistons in a salary dump earlier in the summer. There was a sense that the Suns were upset with the twins’ behavior and felt splitting the pair up would be beneficial.
Off the court, the Morris twins were accused of helping a group assault a man in January. They have pleaded not guilty, but the case could stretch into the season.
Then there was this…

Morris claims that they gave Phoenix a discount on their extensions (which totaled $52 million over four years between them) in the hopes that they’d be able to keep playing together.  In reality, Markieff’s deal was about market value, while Marcus actually got a little more than he deserved at this point.
This isn’t going to end with Markieff Morris playing for the Suns, that’s for sure.
