DraftKings picks for this week’s Auto Club 400 event
.

This week NASCAR heads to my backyard in sunny Southern California. Let’s take a look at the best bets for your DraftKings lineups.

High Priced Studs >$9000

Kevin Harvick, $10800
Harvick has had an up and down start to his season but he is always a threat at Fontana. He’s finished 2nd in each of his last two trips to the track and will be starting 7th after posting the 3rd fastest practice speed. Look for him to lead his share of laps and run towards the front all day.

Kyle Busch, $10500
Prior to his 25th place finish in the second race here last season, Busch had finishes of 3rd, 2nd, 1st and 1st. He looks fast this week posting the 9th quickest practice time and qualifying 9th. Expect him to be running in the top 5 most of the day and contending for the win.

Joey Logano, $10300
Logano missed qualifying after not passing inspection but that shouldn’t be much of an issue. He was 5th fastest in practice and finished 7th and 4th in his last two trips. Starting in the back will give him an opportunity to pick up pace differential points and he should have no problem working his way into the top 10.

Kyle Larson, $9100
Larson is on fire right now and looks poised to finally get his first win of 2016. He’s posted 3 straight 2nd place finishes and posted both the fastest time and took the pole. At just $9100 he looks like an absolute bargain.

Mid-Priced Values $8900-$7000

Matt Kenseth, $8900
Kenseth has struggled in his last two trips here but looks fast this weekend. He posted the 8th fastest practice speed and will start 6th. Look for him to get back on track this weekend.

Denny Hamlin, $8500
Hamlin looks like he could be battling Larson for the win this week. He will start outside of Larson after posting the 2nd fastest practice speed. He finished 3rd here last season so he certainly knows what it takes to be fast at this track.

Ryan Newman, $8000
Despite winning last week, DraftKings is showing Newman no love. He posted the 15th fastest practice speed but then went out and qualified 5th. He runs well here too as he has 5 top 10’s in his last 7 starts. Newman looks like a great value this week.

Jamie McMurray, $7500
McMurray continues to be ignored by DraftKings but he should be in your lineup. He ran 4th fastest in practice and will start 8th. Since driving for Chip Ganassi Racing he has finishes of 10th, 21st, and 7th here. He brings major value this week.

Austin Dillon, $7300
Dillon doesn’t have a great history at the track, but he looks to have the speed this week. He posted the 6th fastest practice speed and will start 11th. If you’re looking to save some cash he could return good value.
