Nick Bosa features a good bend in his pass rush. He also uses a rip move often that works for him, especially on stunts. He has a good first step and compounds that with speed. He also uses his quickness to get into the backfield in the running game. Bosa is a strong hand fighter and that helps him in his pass rush and getting off blocks in the running game. He also plays with good leverage in the running game for a guy his size. Bosa has enough power to feature a bull rush. He also will draw double teams from other college teams. Bosa seems very comfortable executing stunts as he was asked to do it a lot at Ohio State. He also has good balance playing defensive line in college.
A weakness I see in Bosa’s game is that he can get overpowered by bigger tackles in the run game. I also think he needs to show more flexibility in his dip. He is a pro-ready prospect other than those two weaknesses.
I see Bosa as a top pass rusher and probably a top-five pick in the 2019 draft. He is going to be a junior this year and I see no reason for him to stay in school unless he has a major injury. I see Bosa as more the athletic type than the sized type as far as pass rushers. I actually think he would be a better fit as a 3-4 outside linebacker where he can mask his size and feature his speed in coverage.
