2019 NFL Draft Profile: Will Grier

Will Grier has a chance to emerge as a top prospect next season

Will Grier has a live arm, and that is coupled with accurate passing ability. He also can get the ball out quick. Grier can make a lot of intermediate throws which will help him drive the ball down the field. He can also throw on the run and has a bit of mobility. The thing I like most about Will Grier is that he has both a good arm and is a mobile quarterback. I think that is what sets him apart from the other quarterbacks in this class.

The big question that I have about Will Grier is off the field problem of being suspended for a year for performance-enhancing drugs. He didn’t play the entire 2016 season for that reason. That calls into question his smarts and his off-the-field character. I don’t label this as a significant concern, and I don’t think he has major off-the-field issues. It also is a concern that Grier transferred from Florida to a smaller school and that might be another cause for concern.

I have to say from watching Grier’s tape that he is the most impressive quarterback in this class so far. He is a senior as well and will probably come out for the draft after this season. I am going to go out on a limb and say that he will be the first quarterback drafted in 2019. I think with a good showing, and if he interviews well and defends his suspension, he could be the first player taken overall in the next draft.
