Former Oregon quarterback Morgan Mahalak has made the decision to transfer to Towson
He’s expected to compete for the starting job next season.
Mahalak, a 4-star recruit from the Ducks 2014 class, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining after he joins the Tigers this summer.
Having never thrown a pass at Oregon (Mahalak redshirted in 2013 and ran the scout team last season), he clearly saw an easier road to a starting spot at the FCS school.
Towson coach Rob Ambrose is thrilled to have added such a talented player to the roster:
“We are happy that we have secured a commitment from such a talented young quarterback. Morgan brings a tremendous amount of potential and secures great competition at the quarterback position.”
The Towson Tigers finished last season 7-4 and lost their starting quarterback, Connor Frazier, to graduation.
A 6-3, 205 pound dual threat quarterback, Mahalak has all the making of an impact player for Towson.
