The trait that stands out about Dwayne Haskins is his rocket arm. He delivers the ball all around the field with good zip on his passes. He can also throw the deep ball far which will make him dangerous in an attacking offense. He shows the ability to fit passes into tight windows but I think he struggles with that type of consistency. He has average accuracy for a quarterback. Haskins is very competent in throwing under pressure and he also shows the ability to throw the ball away when he needs to. Haskins has great size and that will make him hard to bring down. He also has the mobility to evade defenders. I also appreciate that he gets the ball out quick.
The worry I have for Haskins is that he makes tough decisions and will try to force passes. I would like to see him develop in the way that he can read the field better. Another issue I see is that he is very hot and cold in terms of ball placement. I would like to see more consistency from his ball placement.
Haskins can come out this year as a redshirt sophomore and that is looking more likely with Urban Meyer retiring at the end of the season. I think Haskins goes from looking like a QB that might stay another year to a QB that could be drafted first among QBs. I think he is an early first round pick and that is another reason he should come out this draft.
