Mike Piazza had the best rookie season in Mets’ history.
Since 1947, when Dodgers second baseman Jackie Robinson was awarded the National League’s first Rookie of the Year award, the Dodgers have won the award an incredible seventeen times, including four in a row from 1979-1982, and five in a row from 1992-1996. Assuming Cody Bellinger, who hit 39 home runs in the regular season, takes home the award this year, the Dodgers will have won Rookie of the Year eighteen times, giving the franchise over 25% of the total recipients. Below, we rank the Dodgers Rookie of the Year seasons based on WAR, with Cody Bellinger include on the list.
