Harold Landry NFL Draft Profile

Harold Landry is among the best pass rushers in his class.

There is a lot to like about the skilled player Harold Landry is. He shows good technique coming off the edge. He can stay low when coming off his stance and driving into the blocker. He is more of the type of pass rusher that will beat you with his arsenal of moves rather than pure speed. He is relentless in his pursuit. His strength is that he has a high football IQ that helps him beat the lineman in the mental battle. Landry gets off blocks well. A lineman getting his hands on Landry is not a death wish for him.

Landry is also a good tackler in open space, something that teams love. When he gets comfortable, he can jump the snap and be much quicker than the lineman. I also was impressed with an interception he had on the defensive line. It shows he will get his hands up and has the athleticism to maybe function in a 3-4 front.

He is not a bad run defender, but he does have some weakness in his anchor. His size does not stand out as he is more the type to beat you with technique and football IQ. He is a good athlete, but I wonder how he will stack up at the combine against a guy like Arden Key.

Overall, I see Landry as another successful Boston College, NFL player. His technique smarts and intangibles will make teams love him. He has all the traits to be a good pass rusher in the NFL. I could see him being drafted by a team with either an odd front or an even front. I think he is a top 10 pick in this draft. I will say he is a better football player than his measurables will show.
