Blake Griffin Breaks Hand Punching LAC Staffer

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin was getting close to returning to the court following a quad-injury.

His return should be enough to lift up a team that has been struggling of late, having dropped 3 of their last 5 games.

Well…  About that…

On Monday, Griffin was sent home from the team’s East Coast road trip with a new injury to his hand.

The new injury will keep the All-Star out of the line-up for an additional 4-6 weeks.

So what happened?  Bad fall during practice?  Accidental collision with a teammate?

Well, no…

Michael Eaves of ESPN reports Griffen broke his hand hitting a member of the team’s equipment staff repeatedly during an argument at a restaurant in Toronto.

“Repeatedly”, he says.

It’s worth noting that the staffer Griffin hit, Matias Testi, is a close friend of Griffin’s and the two routinely hang out together on the road.

Remember last summer when DeAndre Jordan was a free agent and one of his big reasons for exploring a departure from the Clippers was because the team lacked chemistry?

There might just be something to that.

On top of everything else, ESPN reports there could be additional punishment for Griffin on top of the injury.
