Clippers cruise past Knicks 105-114

The Los Angeles Clippers (42-29) took another step towards their goal of claiming the fourth seed in the Western Conference on Monday night with a 105-114 win over the breathless New York Knicks (27-43).

With the win last night the Clippers pulled within one game behind the Utah Jazz for the fourth seed with 11 games to go in the season.Claiming the fourth seed would give the Clippers home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

“It’s important,” Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. “I would love it. But I’m not going to focus on it.

“I’m going to try and get this team better each game, and then at the end, we’ll see where we’re at.”

Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 30 points in 31 minutes.Deandre Jordan finished with 14 and 10 rebounds and Chris Paul added 13 points and 13 assists.

Both Derrick Rose and Kristaps Porzingis scored 18 and Carmelo Anthony added 16.It was Porzingis first game back after a thigh injury.

The Knicks visit the Utah Jazz (43-28) on Wednesday. The Jazz decimated the Knicks 94-73 in their only meeting of the season.
