As rumored, Jeff Teague has signed with the Timberwolves.
Earlier today the Minnesota Timberwolves traded point guard Ricky Rubio to the Utah Jazz. Now they’ve found his replacement in Jeff Teague.
Whispers of Teague to Minnesota started almost immediately following this afternoon’s trade — to the point where it was reported as fact via multiple sources.
It’s not up to us to decide if this was tampering (it was) or not (don’t be silly, it was), we’re just here to report the deal.
Teague signed a 3-year, $57 million contract with the Timberwolves to join Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
The 29-year-old point guard spent last season with the Pacers after playing with Atlanta for the first 7 seasons of his career. With the Pacers, he played in all 82 games, posting 15.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 32.4 minutes a content.
He shot 44% from the field, 35% from 3 and 86% from the foul line.
His shooting will help open things up for the Timberwolves talented trio of scorers (Butler, Wiggins, Towns).
