Jordan McRae Sets D-League Scoring Record

Former Tennessee and Philadelphia 76ers guard Jordan McRae set an NBA D-League record with 61 points for the Delaware 87ers in a 130-123 overtime win over the Canton Charge this afternoon.

McRae’s 61 points topped the previous record which was held by Pierre Jackson (Idaho Stampede, 2014) and Darr Tucker (Reno Bighorns, 2015) who both scored 58 points.

The guard shot 21 of 34 from the field and was 3-for-8 from 3-point range.  He also made 16 of his 18 free throw attempts

McRae scored 25 in the first quarter and had 41 by the end of the third.  He connected on a jumper with 5.4 seconds left to force the game into overtime.

He also hauled in 11 rebounds in the win.

A two-time All-SEC first-team performer while at Tennesse, McRae was the 58th pick in the 2014 NBA draft, selected by the San Antonio Spurs and traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on draft night.

It’s about time that McRae gets a chance to test himself at the NBA level.
