Patton Kizzire earned his first win
If you’re going to bag your first PGA Tour win, talk to Patton Kizzire. Not only did he accomplish just that this weekend in Mexico at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, but he did it in tremendous style firing a bogey-free 67 on the final day for the win.
This is also coming on a Sunday where players were forced to pump out 36 holes due to weather delays. Kizzire bested his final round score by one stroke, going 66-67 on the final day. Yeah, I’d take that.
Kizzire fended off a strong group of feisty competitors lead by Rickie Fowler, who charged at the end of his round finishing with two birdies in his final three holes for a final round 67, and only one stroke off Kizzire’s lead.
As mentioned before, this marks Kizzire’s first PGA Tour win after notching two victories on the Web.com Tour in 2015.
Despite the 2017 calendar year nearing its end, this week’s win provides Kizzire an exciting start to 2018 as he is now qualified for Sentry Tournament of Champions as well as a little get-together in April known as The Masters – both firsts for Kizzire.
Like I said, if there’s ever a way to grab hold of your first PGA Tour win, copy and pasting Kizzire’s latest performance is a solid way to start.
