Strengths
- Extremely good free throw shooter (91% last season, 88% for career)
- Improved drawing fouls during senior season
- Better creator for others than other sharpshooters (17 AST%)
- Very smooth 3 point shot, gets it off very quickly
- Created a fair amount of 3-point off the dribble
- Promise as ball handler in PnR
- NBA range on 3 point shot
- Can get shot off dribble, off screens
- Makes winning plays – willing passer
- Wingspan can help him on D when he’s locked in
Weaknesses
- Already 23 years old
- Rarely got to rim (14% of shots at rim)
- Tendency to settle for mid-range shots hurt overall efficiency
- Only slightly above average in mid range (41%)
- Lack of explosiveness in traffic
- Probably won’t venture inside arc at NBA level
- Avoids finishing into contact near rim
- Inconsistent on defense – doesn’t always play hard
- Very poor defensive activity – 3 blocks all senior season
- Doesn’t hustle in transition either direction
- Closing out is a big problem for him – doesn’t chop his feet and doesn’t use 2 hands
Overall
- Jok is one of the best shooters in this year’s class, with the ability to get his shot off from anywhere and spray. He also has showed a little bit as a playmaker last season at Iowa, a good sign for developing offensive versatility. However, he is a poor defensive player and doesn’t show a lot of effort on that end, even though he has a nice frame. Given his status as one of the oldest players in the draft, he’ll likely go undrafted and have to impress in summer league and preseason to crack a roster as an end-of-the-bench shooting option.
