Steph Curry breaks NBA single-game 3-pointers record

Steph Curry now owns the NBA record for made 3-pointers in a game.

Over his last two games, Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry is averaging 6.5 made 3-pointers a contest.

Somehow, that stat doesn’t tell the whole story.

After failing to make a 3-pointer for the first time in 157 games in a loss to the Lakers recently, Curry exploded against the Pelicans.

The MVP guard finished with 13 made 3-pointers, breaking the single-game NBA record.

He finished 13-17 from the outside for a total of 46 points, leading the Warriors to a 116-106 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

“I was hard on myself in practice the last two days. I had pretty good shooting sessions,” he said. “I don’t overreact to games like that whether I go 0-for-10 or 2-for-12 or whatever it is. My process is the same, but I had another level of focus the last two days trying to get my rhythm back and see the ball go in.”

Prior to last night, Curry was in a three-way tie for the single-game record for made 3-pointers with Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall.

Pelicans star Anthony Davis finished with 33 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.  After the game he talked about Curry:

“Nothing you can do about it. He was being Steph,” Davis said.

Curry caught fire at a good time as the rest of the team struggled from beyond the arc, Klay Thompson was 2-for-7, Kevin Durant was 1-for-4, and Andre Iguodala was 0-for-4.

Here’s all 13 of Curry’s 3-pointers from last night’s record-setting performance:
