Steve Kerr Experiencing Complications

Two days into training camp, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made the tough decision to take some time away from the team to aid in his recovery from off-season back surgeries.

Kerr had surgery to repair a ruptured disk in his back July 28th, but during the procedure, the dura surrounding the spinal cord was nicked and caused spinal-fluid leakage. On September 4th, he had a second operation to fix the leak.

He returned to the Warriors on January 22nd, leading the team to an 11-0 record since retaking the top spot.

However, he felt ill following Tuesday’s win over the Rockets, but still traveled with the team to Phoenix and was coached in victory over the Suns.

“I still have symptoms from everything I’ve been dealing with,” Kerr said. “I wish everything was clear and gone away, but at times it’s not, and I have to deal with stuff.”

Kerr is still dealing with headaches and pain associated with the spinal fluid leak caused by his back surgeries.
