USMNT vs. Paraguay: Post Match Thoughts and Match Ratings

The USMNT beat Paraguay 1-0 last night in Cary, NC. A young US side looked hungry and fairly dangerous at times. After several dangerous chances in the first half, the US finally pulled ahead just before halftime when US debutant Marky Delgado’s ball landed at the feet of Tyler Adams, whose blistering pace led to a 1-on-1 chance with the keeper, Gatito Fernandez. Adams attempted to poke the ball around the keeper, but was fouled by Fernandez in the process, and drew a penalty. Bobby Wood, who struggled on the night, buried the penalty to make it 1-0 for the US. In the second half, the US held the lead and gave two more players their international debuts in the process, Andrija Novakovich and Timothy Weah.
