Waiver Wire Targets for Week 6

Once again this week, Jared Goff leads off the list of potential waiver wire additions.

Quarterbacks:

Jared Goff (Los Angeles Rams): Goff is only owned in thirteen percent of NFL.com leagues and he is a must add at this point despite a mediocre fantasy performance against Seattle last week. If you add Goff I would not put him in the starting lineup this upcoming week as he is playing the Jacksonville defense which has been one of the league’s best this season but he could be worth starting on a weekly basis fairly soon.

Carson Palmer (Arizona Cardinals): Some people were concerned that the end was near for Carson Palmer after a sluggish start to the season but he has been a pretty good fantasy quarterback from week two on. If you are a pinch due to the injury to Derek Carr or Marcus Mariota this is a decent way to go as I like his matchup against Tampa Bay this week.

Jacoby Brissett (Indianapolis Colts): Brissett just recently became a member of this team but despite this, he has been a pretty good fantasy quarterback who could bring nice value on the waiver wire if you don’t want to spend big on a bigger name quarterback. It doesn’t appear that Andrew Luck will be back anytime soon and meanwhile Brissett has a very good matchup against the mediocre Titans secondary on Monday Night Football in week six.

Running Backs:

Aaron Jones (Green Bay Packers): Jones is by far the top target on the waiver wire this week and I suggest spending a significant portion of your FAAB budget on him. It appears that he may become the starting running back in Green Bay’s high powered offense and if he secures that role he could be a weekly RB1 for your team. There is potential that Jones is the running back for Green Bay that Eddie Lacy could have been.

Alvin Kamara (New Orleans Saints): Kamara appears to be the main running back in New Orleans now and he is a very high upside add who is still available in over half of NFL.com leagues. There is a decent chance that he is already on a roster in your league but if he happens to be available he is a must add.

Javorius “Buck” Allen (Baltimore Ravens): The Ravens have had some injuries at the running back position this season and so far Allen has done a pretty nice job filling that void. If you don’t want to spend the big FAAB money on Aaron Jones but still want a powerful running back with the potential to have lots of carries this is the way to go.

Marlon Mack (Indianapolis Colts): Mack has a significant role in the Indy offense now and that makes him a great target on the waiver wire this week. Frank Gore is fairly old and the Colts may be looking for a younger face in their backfield. I highly suggest targeting Mack this week as he shouldn’t come at a super high contest compared to the other people already mentioned on this list.

Wayne Gallman (New York GIants): The Giants have had a very bad start to the season but Gallman is still a great add who brings lots of upside in the coming weeks due to the injuries that the Giants have suffered at the receiver position, the Giants as a result of this could rely heavily on their backfield to try to make up for this. I don’t suggest starting Gallman in the next two weeks against a rested Denver defense and against Seattle’s loaded front seven but he brings lots of upside later in the season.

Wide Receivers:

Will Fuller (Houston Texans): Fuller is still available in many leagues and he is the top target at the receiver position this week. Deshaun Watson is looking like a franchise quarterback and this will only help Fuller. I suggest spending a significant amount of FAAB money on him if he is still available in your league.

Devin Funchess (Carolina Panthers): It appears that Funchess is one of Cam’s main targets and he could continue to be targeted heavily in the absence of Greg Olson. I love the potential that Funchess brings and I think he could become a solid flex option on a weekly basis for your team.

Nelson Agholor (Philadelphia Eagles): I have had some doubts about Agholor this season but it is looking like he is going to be a big factor on the Philadelphia offense this season. I expect Carson Wentz to target him primarily on deep routes so he brings big play potential to your team.

Cooper Kupp (Los Angeles Rams); Kupp is one of Jared Goff’s main targets and he should be a decent option in both standard and PPR leagues. I love the potential that Kupp brings on a weekly basis and I suggest targeting him if he hasn’t been picked up in your league.

Mike Wallace (Baltimore Ravens): Wallace has produced in the past two weeks and he is still available in many leagues despite being a fairly well-known player. The Ravens offense has been pretty good in most games this season and I love the potential that Wallace brings but he may be a risky start on a weekly basis as he could be a boom or bust player.

Jermaine Kearse (New York Jets): Kearse is the Jets primary receiver and he has been a decent fantasy option this season. I doubt Jermaine Kearse ever wins you a week but he could be a reliable option on your team as he should be targeted on a fairly regular basis.

Tight Ends:

Cameron Brate (Tampa Bay Buccaneers): Brate is a top red zone target for Tampa Bay and he has the potential to have a double-digit performance each week. I highly suggest targeting both Tampa Bay tight ends and any of the primary guys’s in that receiving corps as it is very talented.

Ed Dickson (Carolina Panthers): Dickson was one of the top fantasy performers last week and he brings lots of upside while Greg Olson is out. I wouldn’t spend too much FAAB money on him as you probably won’t get much out of him once the playoffs roll around but he is still worth a solid look if you can get good value for him.
