Week 3 NFL Picks (Against The Spread)

Jacoby Brissett and the Patriots are currently one-point underdogs.

Houston @ New England (+1): How the Pats are getting points at home is beyond me. I don’t care if future Browns 2rd-rounder/Jacoby Brissett is starting, I #rideWithBelly. Pick: New England

Denver @ Cincinnati (-3): I underestimated the Vegas geniuses, and thought this line might be close to pick’em I’m very surprised that the public isn’t hammering the Broncos after their Mile High debut. I think the line is correct, and I actually like the Bengals in their first home tilt with DeMarcus Ware out and Tyler Boyd fast developing into a legit second weapon across from AJ Green. Pick: Cincinnati Oakland @ Tennessee (-2): This line stinks. Apparently, some big investors were underwhelmed in the Raiders’ home loss to Atlanta last week, because it started at pick-em and has since moved to -2, implying inordinately heavy money on Mariota and Co. The Raider defense has been terrible, and traveling cross-country is always tough. Still, because of that Carr-led pass game, I’d go with Oakland getting points against a Tennessee team that hung with a good Vikings group in the opener but benefited from a bevy of Lions drops last week. Pick: Oakland Arizona @ Buffalo (+4): #BillsMafia is suffering from a two-week-long hangover, but this spread is too high; Arizona has struggled with multi-dimensional QBs in the last few years. I like Buffalo as a live home dog against another squad making the dreaded cross-country voyage. Pick: Buffalo Baltimore @ Jacksonville (+1): Not much respect for the #elite visitors, despite the Jags being throttled on the road against a Chargers team I don’t think is all that good. Pick: Baltimore Cleveland @ Miami (-10): Woof. The Dolphins shouldn’t be laying double-digits to anyone. Anyone, that is, except a team quarterbacked by Cody Kessler. Pick: Miami Washington @ New York Giants (-5): The Giants could be 0-2, but let’s not overthink this. Whispers of a Cousins mutiny amidst an actual 0-2 start for Washington make this an easy choice. The Giants are the better team. Pick: New York Giants Detroit @ Green Bay (-7): This line has come down from Packers -8.5. There’s been a lot — a LOT– of Rodgers bashing this week. A virtuoso performance against a team he’s mostly owned over his career in the first Lambeau game is imminent, methinks. Pick: Green Bay Minnesota @ Carolina (-7): With the Vikings coming down from their impressive home opener minus their Hall of Fame running back, I absolutely love Carolina in this spot. Pick: Carolina San Francisco @ Seattle (-9): Something’s up with Seattle, but I still think the offense does enough to cover against a team I believe is one of the three or four worst in football. Pick: Seattle Los Angeles @ Tampa Bay (-6): Jeff Fisher, man. Just when you think his boys will zig, they zag– which means I expect them to suck a week after a momentous win over Seattle. After the Bucs received an Arians dump-trucking, I like them to home and handle business with an underrated front that should control Gurley. Pick: Tampa Bay Pittsburgh @ Philadelphia (+3.5): Carson Wentz finally plays a non-JV team, and Vegas expects a struggle. Put me in the camp that believes the Wentz train continues to roll. The line shouldn’t be this high. Pick: Philadelphia New York Jets @ Kansas City (-3): Wow, the public really loves these Jets. The Chiefs are better, and Arrowhead will be rocking. Pick: Kansas City San Diego @ Indianapolis (-2.5): I love Indy in this spot, even with a decimated secondary. The line should be Indy laying at least 4. Pick: Indianapolis Chicago @ Dallas (-7): The Bears had one player listed on their injury report last week; this week, it’s 14. Even facing a backup, laying a touchdown with a rookie QB is too much. Pick: Chicago Atlanta @ New Orleans (-3): Expect fireworks. Atlanta was impressive in its rebound victory over Oakland, while New Orleans stiffened up a bit against a damn good Giants offense. This line is dead on, but I like the Superdome crowd on Monday Night. Pick: New Orleans Tweets by RealTheUnderdog
